Beamstreet is an equity crowdfunding portal to help individuals obtain equity in start-ups by providing investment opportunities and a comprehensive array of education and analytical tools. Beamstreet will be the most user-friendly investment vehicle and resource ever developed. Investors will have access to an unprecedented range of innovative tools. This particular kind of equity crowdfunding will soon be possible when the final portion of the JOBS Act legislation is passed. For the first-time, individual investors (not just angel or accredited) will be able to invest in start-ups. The problem is the average investor has never had access to start-ups. So, there is little easy-to-understand and useful information and analyitical tools available. The market size is as yet unknown, but experts believe it could mirror the IRA market. According to the Investment Company Institute: IRAs are held by 4 out of 10 Americans, which is 49 million househoulds with 5.5 trillion in assets.
