Roland Announces Its New Portable Mixer For Smartphone Creatives

Jun 22, 2021

Roland Today Roland, the legendary electronic musical instruments and multimedia product brand has announced the GO:MIXER PRO-X, the latest addition to the company’s GO:MIXER family of audio mixers designed for use with smartphones and tablets. The new mixer is compact and stuffed with audio connectivity options that enable mobile content creators to capture audio from multiple sources at studio quality. The mixer is designed for making music videos, livestreams, podcasts and more. Compared with the previous GO:MIXER PRO model, GO:MIXER PRO-X now has expanded support for Android and iOS mobile devices, including a guitar/bass input pad switch, plus the ability to use a headset mic or the inline mic on smartphone earbuds as a sound source. Most smartphones and tablets can record great quality video, but a smartphone’s built-in microphone can rarely deliver the level of audio quality essential when creating polished productions that will hold viewers’ attention and keep them engaged. GO:MIXER PRO-X combines multi-channel mixing and sound monitoring in an affordable, palm-sized piece of kit that’s small enough to take anywhere. The Roland GO:MIXER PRO-X Audio Mixer has plenty of inputs and outputs plus all the controls you ... [+] need to create great multimedia on a smartphone or tablet. Roland Roland’s GO:MIXER PRO-X can connect and mix up to seven separate audio sources, including a professional XLR microphone, guitar or bass, a stereo instrument like a keyboard or drum machine, plus two stereo line-level devices. The headphone jack supports an additional mic feed, while the Loop Back function enables music and other audio from a connected mobile device to be mixed in as well. A newly added pad switch for the dedicated guitar/bass input enables users to attenuate the signal, if needed, for instruments that have active pickups. MORE FROMFORBES VETTED GO:MIXER PRO-X is equipped with both USB Micro-B and four-pole TRRS analog jacks, offering plug-and-play operation with most iOS and Android smartphones and tablets. Three different cable types are included in the kit for connecting to Lightning, USB-C, and four-pole TRRS jacks on mobile devices. GO:MIXER PRO-X can be powered with four AAA-size batteries or through a USB Micro-B connection. In addition to providing vastly improved sound quality for videos and livestreams, GO:MIXER PRO-X can also work as an audio interface for music apps like Roland’s own Zenbeats or Apple’s GarageBand. It can also work as a portable standalone mixer for band practice or even live performances. Although the Roland GO:MIXER PRO-X Audio Mixer is very small, it's packed with features that can ... [+] create superb audio even on a smartphone or tablet. Roland Pricing and Availability: The Roland GO:MIXER PRO-X will be available in the USA from August and will sell for $149.99.
