January 26, 2023 Suara.com – Ilham Wahyudi was shocked when he learned that his account at PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) had to be blocked due to an order from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). Even though Ilham said the total balance he had in the account was no more than IDR 2 million. “After a few hours, we again tried to make a transfer, but still couldn’t,” said Ilham as quoted from beritajatim.com, the media network suara.com, Thursday (26/1/2023). Intrigued, finally Ilham went to the BCA Pamekasan Branch Office to ask why his account had been frozen. While at the bank, Ilham said that he had received a letter from BCA. In the excerpt of the letter issued by BCA dated 16 January 2023 it is stated: Based on a request from the KPK as referred to in letter R/35/DAK.01.00/20-23/01/2023, dated 11 January 2023 regarding unblocking an account in the name of Ilham Wahyudi on January 13, 2023. On the basis of that letter, BCA finally blocked his account. Ilham cannot withdraw money, but he can receive incoming money. Ilham admits to being confused and disappointed. He even emphasized that he had never accepted a big, strange project. “We said that we were just civilians, not officials or civil servants, suddenly we had to deal with the KPK. At that time the officers said that the letter would be sent to our address later,” he explained. After receiving a letter of request from the KPK via email inbox, he returned to the BCA office to ensure the clarity of the letter. “At that time we did not receive a meaningful explanation, and were asked to go directly to the KPK or contact online,” he added. “To be honest, this is the first time we have experienced something like this, let alone trying with the KPK. We tried browsing on Google to get the KPK contact number, finally it was answered to send a complaint via the KPK email,” he explained. It’s just that, he also experienced a stalemate again because his report was again rejected. “Last Tuesday, we tried to return to BCA, in the end we asked the KPK again and there was no resolution,” he said. “What surprised us was that IDR 2 million had to be dealt with by the Corruption Eradication Commission. What about our money in the account,” he said.
