Final call: Takeover speculation |

Nov 13, 2020

| The AEX (+ 0.1%) is today the only stock exchange that is closed in green. The German (-1.2%) and French (-1.4%) even close deep in the red. It is the technology funds that are emerging. Especially our heavyweight Prosus (+ 3.6%) gives the main index a boost. Various media report that KPN (+ 6.3%) also plays a role in this, but that is not true. The telecommerce industry only has a weighting of 1.3%, so that does not make much sense. KPN Over KPN (+ 6.9%) spoken. Rumor has it that the Swedish investment company EQT would like to make an offer for the Dutch telecommerce. Reuters reports that KPN has been officially approached, but the company says it does not want to comment on the rumor. Where there’s smoke, there is fire. Still, it will be quite a job for the Swedes to get the takeover through. Carlos Slim and Canadian investor Brookfield Asset Management have already hit their heads once in the past. The stumbling block is of course the Dutch government. The security services operate via KPN’s network, so the government is not waiting for a takeover. You can read in the article below whether a bid has a chance of success. SBM Offshore SBM Offshore (+ 0.1%) is one of the best oil investments this year. While Royal Dutch Shell and Fugro have halved in price this year, SBM Offshore is only a fraction below the closing price of 2019. Today’s figures were not bad. The oil services provider is raising its EBITDA forecast to $ 950 million. Earlier it was communicated to the market that the EBITDA would slightly exceed $ 900 million. A setback is the higher debt position. This increases by $ 500 million to $ 4 billion. You can read in the article below whether the share is worth buying Sort The price of the ICT service provider is at the highest price of the year. The company exchanges freelancers for permanent employees, which benefits profitability. Despite the decline in turnover, profit in the third quarter rose by 20% to € 5.0 million. One of Ordina’s strongest points (+ 3.5%) is its strong balance sheet. There is currently € 40 million in cash and therefore management dares to pay out a dividend of € 0.095 per share. On December 14 the share will go ex-dividend. In the article below I explain why the price can go up even further. Annuities Interest rates are falling significantly today. In particular, the American fee on ten-year government paper is taking a dive. Netherlands: -3 basis points (-0.44%) Germany: -3 basis points (-0.53%) United Kingdom: -6 basis points (+ 0.36%) Italy: -5 basis points (+ 0.65%) United States: -7 basis points (+ 0.92%) Broad market The AEX VIX index (volatility) climbs 0.9% and records 22.4 points. Wall Street is about 0.5% in the red. The euro climbs 0.3% and trades 1.181 against the dollar. Gold (+ 0.7%) and silver (+ 0.1%) are recovering cautiously. Oil: WTI (+ 0.9%) and Brent (+ 0.7%) continue to increase. Bitcoin (+ 1.7%) is climbing above USD 16,000. The Damrak ABN Amro (+ 2.0%) has received the necessary price target cuts in response to its third-quarter figures. However, the market has already taken the loss yesterday. Tencent (+ 4.1%) recovered somewhat after a series of loss days. This is also good for major shareholder Prosus (+3,6%). Bee Royal Dutch Shell (-2.0%) we see exactly the opposite. On the other hand, we shouldn’t overdo it. Royal Oil is going $ 0.167 ex-dividend today. Corrected for this, there remains a loss of barely 1%. Galapagos (+ 1.7%) is not affected by a target cut by JPMorgan Cazenove. The American investment bank lowers his target price with a tenner to € 120. Flow Traders (+ 3.1%) will buy back 2.5% of the number of outstanding shares. That is appreciated by the market. Air France-KLM (-0.6%) expect to operate only 40% of its original flights. The company previously assumed 50%. There is also criticism of the Minister of Finance Wopke Hoekstra. He would have made it known too early that he was in favor of a support package. This weakened his negotiating position on a bailout package. Eurocommercial Properties (-4.6%) seems to be somewhat affected by profit taking. Unibail Rodamco (+ 1.4%) in Wereldhave (+ 0.1%) are considerably better. There is no big news within the sector, except that Standard and Poors is lowering Unibail Rodamco’s credit rating from A- to BBB +. The judgment is that the debt securities of the retail property fund are of acceptable quality. Pharming (+ 4.1%) goes up solidly on an above-average volume of 11.4 million pieces. There is already a lot of speculation about a press release on the forum. The fantasy is completely off course TomTom (-2.2%). The share is at the same level as at the end of March. That is not a good sign. The company is suffering from the weak automotive industry. One bright spot is the navigation specialist’s strong net cash position. Bank Degroof moves Accell (+ 1.4%) on the buy list. ING is also enthusiastic. The Dutch major bank increases its target price by € 2.50 to € 32.50. Opinions ABN Amro: to € 8 from € 8.10 and keep – Berenberg ABN Amro: to € 8.50 from € 9.50 and keep – Credit Suisse ABN Amro: to € 9 from € 9.50 and hold – Royal Bank of Canada ABN Amro: to € 9 from € 9.50 and keep – CFRA Ahold: maintain at € 29 and buy – ING ArcelorMittal: to € 17.50 from € 16 and buy – ING Accell: to € 32.50 from € 30 and buy – ING Accell: to buy from hold and to € 32 from € 23 – Bank Degroof Air France-KLM: to keep sales and to € 4.30 – Kepler Cheuvreux Air France-KLM: to € 4 from € 3 and keep – BNP Paribas Galapagos: to € 120 from € 130 and hold – JPMorgan Cazenove IMCD: to € 120 from € 110 and buy – Bank of America Just Eat Takeaway: go to € 137 and buy – Jefferies Philips: to € 49 from € 46 and buy – Berenberg Randstad: to € 49 from € 42 and keep – ABN Amro Agenda
