Abdulla Bin Touq Al Marri, UAE Minister of Economy said: “The programme supports the ministry’s continuing efforts to enhance and develop the accounting and auditing profession in the country, and increase the competency of all auditing and accounting services in line with global best practices and standards. This programme further promotes investors and businesses’ confidence in our country’s financial and accounting sectors, as well as in business governance, thereby consolidating the national economy’s strength and upholding its prestigious global trade and investment position aligned with the principles of the 50 and the UAE Centennial 2071.” Al Marri added: “The new programme will support and encourage UAE citizens with various specialisations to enter into the financial and accounting sectors, thereby enhancing Emiratisation rates in accounting and auditing professions in upcoming years.” Fazeela Gopalani, head of ACCA in the Middle East, added: “ACCA is honoured to be the chosen partner to support the UAE government and Ministry of Economy’s vision to enhance and further develop the audit profession in the UAE and introduce global best practices within the financial reporting ecosystem. The UAE Fellowship Programme, consisting of three ACCA examination certificates will include upskilling on international financial reporting standards, international auditing standards, and UAE tax and regulation. ACCA will manage the delivery and testing processes for the certificate courses hosted on its online learning platform.
