By FinSMEs Convene , a NYC-based workplace-as-a-service platform and the operator of a network of full-service meeting and event venues, acquired Assemble Design Group to internalize their architecture and design capabilities. The amount of the deal was not disclosed. Brian Tolman, the Managing Partner of Assemble Design Group, has been named the Head of Product for Convene. The 12-person Assemble Design Group team will join the acquiring company. Founded in 2009 by Ryan Simonetti, CEO, Convene is a “workplace-as-a-service” platform and the operator of a network of full-service meeting, event, and conference venues. The company also partners with large commercial landlords to deliver premiere amenities and services to building tenants and their employees. Convene, which has locations in Boston, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C., recently raised $68M in Series C funding. FinSMEs
