Classic stealth series Project IGI is getting a new game

Classic stealth series Project IGI is getting a new game By Sherif Saed, Tuesday, 19 March 2019 16:24 GMT A new Project IGI is officially in the early stages of development. Project IGI, sometimes referred to as Project IGI: I’m Going In, is a classic, quasi-open world stealth action series. Norwegian studio Innerloop is responsible for the original, released in 2000, as well as its sequel in 2003. The original IGI was published by Eidos, which held the series’ publishing rights. Eidos would later, of course, become part of Square Enix. In 2017, the IP was acquired by Norwegian studio Artplant , a new team made up of the game’s original developers. Publishing rights remained with Square Enix, however. Though Artplant did announce at the time that work has begun on a new Project IGI, it’s been dead quiet ever since. Fast forward to today, and Swedish developer Toadman Interactive has announced that it’s currently in the early prototype stages of development on a new IGI game that will serve as a prequel. It’s not clear at this time if Artplant is publishing the Toadman game, but today’s announcement was shared on Artplant’s official Facebook page . Developer Toadman released a very brief teaser, and it’s currently looking for any and all ideas from fans as the team builds the new IGI. Hit the link and tell the developer what you want to see in the game. Toadman consulted on a number of games in the past such as Vermintide, but the studio’s first in-house project was Immortal: Unchained , a middling Souls-like action game / shooter hybrid that launched last year. Hopefully we won’t have to wait long to learn more. Sometimes we include links to online retail stores. If you click on one and make a purchase we may receive a small commission.
