Salesperson app Spiro picks up $1.5 mln

Nov 10, 2015

November 10, 2015 Salesperson app Spiro has raised $1.5 million in seed funding. The investors included Rob Wadsworth, managing director of HarbourVest Partners LLC, Vijay Balan, head of global publisher development at Facebook and Tom Tucker, former CEO of Akibia Inc. PRESS RELEASE November 10, 2015 – Spiro today unveiled the industry’s first personal sales assistant built to help quota-carrying salespeople make more money. The Spiro app is free and available now in the Apple App Store. The company also announced the close of $1.5 million in seed funding. Investors in the round include: Rob Wadsworth, managing director of HarbourVest Partners, LLC; Vijay Balan, head of global publisher development at Facebook, Inc.; Tom Tucker, former CEO of Akibia, Inc.; Christopher Lochhead, co-founding partner of Play Bigger Advisors; and Omar Hussain, CEO of Imprivata, Inc. The founding team at Spiro has developed and deployed technology solutions for more than 300,000 salespeople in the past 10 years. The team includes CEO Adam Honig, who was previously the co-founder and VP of sales at Open Environment and the founder and CEO of CRM consulting firm Innoveer Solutions. Salespeople at more than 200 companies beta tested Spiro and the results were dramatic. Salespeople using the Spiro app have, on average, sold 11 percent more deals per month and increased their average deal size by 18 percent. Money Does Not Make Itself Spiro is a personal app because it’s focused on one thing: empowering salespeople to make more money. The app is fun, wicked easy to use and requires no data entry. As a result, it actually works for salespeople, not against them. Spiro works as a personal sales assistant, recommending the smartest things salespeople can do in every moment to make more money. Spiro was designed on top of a custom built machine learning engine that leverages existing data in Salesforce, email and calendars to alert the salesperson on who to call, email or meet with to advance opportunities. “Legendary salespeople know that there is one universal truth: money is not going to make itself. Spiro was built for salespeople who want to increase their win rate, sell bigger deals and work more opportunities. That’s how you make more money in sales,” said Adam Honig, Spiro co-founder and CEO. “After years of living with dull, soul-sucking, time-wasting enterprise sales apps that don’t really improve the odds of salespeople winning more deals, we think it’s time for a smart, fun, personal sales app that actually moves the needle.” How Salespeople Can Make More Money with Spiro Spiro helps salespeople beat quotas and win more deals with features such as: · Intelligent Customer Contact Prompting: Spiro integrates with Salesforce, email and calendars to understand what each salesperson has in their personal pipeline and proactively notifies them when they should take action to move deals forward. · Eliminate Salesforce Data Entry: Salespeople can capture actions and engagement with prospects in Spiro, such as completing a follow-up call or sending an email. With every action that moves a deal forward, Spiro automatically updates Salesforce with all of the details. · Multiple Personalities for Increased Motivation: Spiro provides multiple personal assistant personas within the app to provide fun and engaging prompts in whatever personality fits each salesperson. Spiro personalities include Jewish Mother, R-rated, Surfer Dude, Gossip Girl and Coach. “When salespeople find a solution that cuts through the clutter and helps them sell, they’ll actually use it,” said Max Altschuler, founder of Sales Hacker. “Salespeople always want to know what they need to do next so they can better manage their existing pipeline, focus on the biggest opportunities and close more deals. Spiro is filling a gap in the marketplace and solving a long-existing pain point with its free personal sales assistant that helps them do just that.” Spiro is free to use and available immediately. Users must have an iPhone and be using Salesforce. Additional CRM systems are expected to be supported soon. To download Spiro, go to: Spiro will be demonstrating the new personal sales app at the Sales Stack Conference in San Francisco, booth #39 in the Enablement section.
