AVT, Edale to unveil new integrated inspection system

Oct 19, 2017

AVT, Edale to unveil new integrated inspection system Advanced Vision Technology (AVT) and Edale will launch a new fully integrated closed loop image-based pressure, register and inspection system at Label Expo Europe. The event is being held from 25 to 28 September in Brussels, Belgium. The jointly developed solution is based on Edale’s autonomous inking impression registration (AIIR) and integrates camera technology from AVT. Developed to incorporate on Edale’s FL-3 and FL-5 flexographic presses, the new solution is said to provide better quality in single-pass printing. At the event, the companies will run an integrated and image-based pressure control system on Edale’s FL-3 graphium hybrid press, providing better view for the customers. AIIR functions include printing of registration marks on each station and flowed to the AVT Helios S camera positioned at the end of the press. The camera will analyse the relative positions of the marks and forwards necessary corrections to the respective print stations. Edale’s advanced tracking software will help to avoid additional corrections until the initial corrections have passed the camera. Edale managing director James Boughton said: “Edale’s close cooperation with AVT has resulted in Edale being able to offer one of the most highly automated flexo presses in the industry. “We are proud to announce that Edale is the only narrow web press manufacturer offering a fully integrated combined image based pressure and register control system on our analogue and hybrid digital flexo presses.” AVT business development director David Naisby said: “Edale has a collaborative, forward-thinking team whose experience and ethos of open minded technology development has helped create a winning solution for the label industry.” AVT offers print inspection, process control and quality assurance solutions for the packaging, labels, and commercial print industries. Edale produces narrow and mid-web flexographic and digital printing presses and converting equipment. Share:
