September 21, 2010 05:18 PM Eastern Daylight Time NEW YORK--( BUSINESS WIRE )--L-3 Communications (NYSE: LLL) announced today that it acquired 3Di Technologies, LLC (3Di) on September 17, 2010. 3Di provides highly specialized end-to-end secure satellite communications utilized by forward-deployed United States special operations and in-theater personnel. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed. The business will be included in the Microwave Group within L-3’s Electronic Systems segment. Headquartered in Hanover, Maryland, 3Di’s products and services are applicable to intelligence, defense and select commercial customers. The company’s business approach seamlessly combines equipment, professional services, satellite services, VoIP services, and field support into customized turnkey solutions. 3Di is expected to generate approximately $40 million of sales for the year ending December 31, 2010. “3Di will enhance L-3’s overall position as a communication solutions provider,” said John S.
