2DHeat Raises £287.5K in Funding

Published On October 24, 2014 | 2DHeat Limited , a UK-based company which has developed and patented a novel form of electric heating element, raised £287.5k in funding. The funding is comprised of: - an equity investment from The North West Fund for Energy & Environmental , which is managed by 350 Investment Partners (£125k), - an angel investment of £32.5k; - a grant from Innovate UK (formerly the Technology Strategy Board) of £90k; and - a £40k grant from the Science and Technologies Facilities Council. The company intends to use the funds to provide growth capital which will support the commercialization of its novel thick film heating technology, helping to demonstrate its technical potential to a wider market, as well as to create three additional jobs. Based in Warrington with plans to move to Merseyside and led by John Lewis, managing director, 2DHeat produces innovative ‘flat’ electric heating technology that can be sprayed on to suitable surfaces of products.
