Front-End Developer
CB Insights Front-End Developer will be responsible for conceptualizing, designing and developing web-based applications. This will include but is not limited to product presentation, data, search, and visualization capabilities. We are swimming in lots of data so an interest in and aptitude for data visualizations is a definite plus. Requirements:
- Experience designing and developing web applications, including creating delightful user interfaces
- 3+ years of experience coding pages using HTML/CSS
- Advanced AJAX and JavaScript knowledge, including jQuery
- Experience with scripting languages, such as PHP
- Knowledge of MySQL or equivalent database environments
- Experience with data visualization
- Real world applicable work experience
- Creative, self-starter, diligent and enjoys challenging work
VP of Engineering / Statistical NLP Expert
- Has an M.S. or Ph.D. degree in CS or a related technical field and an exceptional record at solving challenging problems
- Strong statistical/machine learning background with emphasis on statistical natural language processing - text clustering and categorization
- Experience with scientific computing on large datasets, natural language processing, information extraction, information retrieval, graph analysis, distributed systems, semantic web is a plus
- Has had a minimum of 5 years of professional coding experience, ideally with top search or data mining oriented companies
- Is experienced with some or all of the following: data mining and statistics, systems architecture, search technology, building scalable web services, lucene/solr, AWS
- Strong experience with: Java/C++/Python development of large software systems, Linux/Windows environments
- Is driven, ambitious and interested in solving very big pervasive problems through the unique application data and information
Software Engineer
We're looking for a talented and experienced software engineer to help us develop and administer web crawling system and analysis tools, data extraction & parsing from numerous unstructured sources, and build and maintain data mining classifiers. Requirements for the position include:
- Experience in system performance analysis and optimization
- Working experience with Heritrix, Nutch or other open source web crawlers
- Strong experience in regular expressions, Perl, Java, Ruby, HTTP, HTML, XML, Linux/Unix
- Strong problem solving capabilities, detailed oriented, self-starter, passion with web information
- DBMS experience (MySQL preferred) is a plus
- Indexing experience (Lucene preferred) is a plus
- LAMP administration
- Bachelor's degree or more in Computer Science or related fields
